Blind Faith: Praying for Miracles

Our precious baby girl was born 11 weeks ago and we have been so smitten. I noticed right away that she wasn’t opening her eyes much. I mentioned it to her doctor and a few friends and family. I decided I needed to just give her time since she was born a little early.

In the past few weeks I have noticed Demi’s eyes weren’t progressing like I thought they should. I expressed concern to my sister and my friend, Ashton, and they both explained they were concerned as well. In that moment, I felt like it was time to be a bit more proactive.

I then scheduled an appointment with Beaus eye doctor for Demi. Well that appointment was today. They had to use some awful looking torture device (that’s what I call it, no it’s not really one, it’s only a medical tool) to keep her eye open for the exam. It was terrifying to watch and she didn’t like it at all. And she hated the light they were shining in her eye.

We were given some not very good news and immediately sent to a retinal specialist in town. At that appointment they used the same torture device and we were given basically the same information.

That information was that she has scar tissue like build up in both eyes keeping her from having central vision and in the right eye there is a growth of some sort. What her visual future holds is hard to say. Both doctors believed Demi needed to see a pediatric retinal specialist.

So, we are headed to Memphis. St. Jude’s campus to be exact. We are praying for healing over our princesses eyes and that we are given some optimistic information. We are asking for prayers in the healing of her eyes from everyone we know.

I typically prefer to keep matters like this private for a bit, but whole heartedly believe in the power of prayer. Because of my faith, and believing in Gods work, I’m sharing this so He can hear her name even more.

I will share updates on her as we feel fit but I will also protect my families privacy as needed too.

I will pray for our Lord to wash her with his precious blood and make her whole. Heal her Lord from the top of her head to the tip of her toes in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus for this blessing. Thank you for all your miracles. We adore you, we praise you and we love you.

Prayers for you! Our son had to have surgery on his eyes when he was 4 months old. He was born with cataracts in both eyes. Long story short but we had to see a retina specialist for surgery. After surgery he wore contacts in his eyes but kept losing them. He now had glasses and seems to be ok. As far as how great his vision they said we won’t know til he is older and can talk to us. Prayer is an amazing thing because there was sure a lot for our little man and I know that’s what helped him. God bless you and your family!
